Next day, it was time to move on, so I took a bus to Zadar.

I checked into my accommodation and went to do an initial sortie of the town. I walked along the coast past a number of beaches full of sunbathers. The old town was, like many others, very nice, but busy. It originally had a Roman market square, and there are still some remains of this, but more recently a number of churches from the 1300s with bell towers. I come up the tallest tower to get a nice view of the town. At the end of town are a couple of modern additions - the sea organ and greeting to the sun. The sea organ is designed to make noises as the water laps over it. The greeting to the sun is a large structure on the ground with solar panels representing the sun and planets. I headed back to the accommodation, and was thinking of going for a wade in the sea to cool down, but instead sat in the shade and chatted with the other travellers. Later, I went into town with one of the guys who was a talented musician, to watch him do some busking with his guitar, harmonicas and tambourine. A few others joined us, and after he'd finished, a rock band played on the stage in front of us. Later, we joined some others for a drink, by which point we had an impressively large group. Then we went to the club area of town, which was a large historic gardens with many bars and clubs. We stayed here until late.
