Next day we headed up over the Grossglockner pass, which goes through the Grossglockner mountain range, which are Austria's highest mountains. The views were amazing, as were the roads. It was an expensive toll, but lucky we got it free with a pass we received from the hotel we stayed at. The rumours were of heavy rain storms. I needed to head back to Innsbruck, but Davie didn't, so I headed back while he stayed somewhere nearby. I went back over the pass for more amazing views, then as I got close to Innsbruck, decided to stop for a break. I had an ice coffee as it was so hot, but by the time I got back on the bike, the rain and thunder had started. I put my waterproofs on and headed off. But before I got far, I was being attacked by heavy hail stones the size of golf balls. Then suddenly it was like sheets of ice. I took shelter under the edge of a barn, as the most ridiculous storm continued. When it had reduced to merely a heavy rainstorm, I continued.

I met the friend I was staying with and we went to meet my other friend. On the way we met his work friends, so we ended up having a biggish group. We had beer and pizza. Later there was more heavy rain.
