We left the Weissensee, and headed down the mountain pass to Hermagor, then up and over the mountain pass that took us from Austria to Italy. Then a bit further along the road was another mountain pass. It didn't go anywhere, but was supposed to be worth seeing. We had to the windy road to the top. There was a little rockfall near the top, but we made it to the view point, but unfortunately it was too cloudy to see all the views, but still very impressive. Further down was a steep track to a mountain hut, where we stopped for lunch.

We continued back down and on into Slovenia. We followed a road through the Soca valley which followed the river which was amazingly clear and had many people bathing in. We would have done the same, but we knew there might be rain, and we had some exciting roads ahead, so we instead continued up an amazing mountain road full of hairpins to the top, where we stopped for amazing views.

On the way down, there were hairpins with cobbles, roadworks with gravel, pot holes and bumps. But we made it down safely before any rain came. We rewarded ourselves with a stop at Kranjska Gora for an ice cream and a paddle in the refreshing lake.

We got heavily rained on to way to Bled, and on arrival at Bled lake, it really wasn't swimming weather (except for ducks). We found some accommodation and then needed to some laundry. To make this more pleasant waiting, we waited for the laundry in a nearby pub. Every time I went to check the laundry, it was pouring with rain, so when I finally returned, the laundry was dry, but I wasn't. Going anywhere would have involved getting wet, so we also had dinner there before heading back once the rain had stopped.
