After a not that early start, we met in town and started walking up the mountain. It was a big mountain, and not many climbing it. When we left it was raining slightly, but the sun soon came out. Eventually we met some cows. The climbing got steeper and steeper. After many hours we reached the station near the top, where we met some friendly sheep. Then we continued on, and the going got tougher and the weather got worse. But finally we made it to the top. The views were sub-optimal, but still very impressive. But it had taken us 7 hours to get up. Our goal was therefore to get down before nightfall! The cable car had closed, so no opportunity for cheating! We headed down a tricky descent, then onto the path, and took the path all the way down. We failed to get down before night, and as we passed through the final forest as we approached town, we encountered many fireflies, glowing in front of us. Finally we got back into town a little after 10pm after 4 hours of descending and a total of 21 miles walked. An impressive day out! After a quick dinner, I went straight to bed and slept deeply!
