After a great time in Luxembourg, it was time to move on. I started on the motorway to make some progress, and headed down to Saint Die des Vosges. I had lunch here, then headed into the Parc Natural Regional des Ballons des Vosges. This includes an amazing road - the Route des Cretes, which has lots of hair pins and takes you up to the Grand Ballon, which is an amazing viewpoint, then on through the park and down. This road was so much fun that it was absolutely packed with motorbikers, but still not too crowded. It also had plenty of paragliders, downhill mountain bikers on the ski runs, and road cyclists. After this excitement, I rode on into Mulhouse, ready for a journey into the Alps. The Route des Cretes seems like a hard road to better, but with the Alps coming, this may well be achieved!

At the accommodation, there seemed to be a classic car meet up out the back, so lots of interesting old French and othr classic cars. I then went out exploring in Mulhouse. The centre was pretty old, and had many historic buildings, especially in the central square. I then went hunting for food. I tried to visit the best restaurant according to TripAdvisor, and it said you always needed to book, and it was Saturday night, but I thought I'd try, but sure enough, they were right. Anyway, I found another recommend one, and had an amazing French version of Beef Wellington - delicious!
